Swimming & Cooing

Claire is on her second round of swimming lessons.  It's group lessons so I go in the water with her.  She's just now starting to figure out that swimming is fun instead of getting traumatized when she goes under water.  She's better than she thinks.  We're still waiting for that light bulb to go off in her head that says, "I'm a swimmer!".

While Claire is learning to swim when coaxed (sometimes forced), Anson is pro-actively learning to coo and vocalize.  He's already trying to talk louder than his sister.  He gets pretty loud and long winded sometimes.  But we love it.  So far.

Sunset Beach with Pugmires & Amanda

There's no better place to start than the present, right?  Instead of back tracking the last few months or years, which honestly intimidates me, this blog will start now...

My cousin Amanda just moved here for college and the Pugmires drove her out.  What better way to welcome them back to California than to hit the beach.  We had a great time, as always, at the beach.  I especially enjoyed spending time with my aunt and cousin.  There's something special about spending time with family members that you've known all  your lives, people with shared experiences, people who care about the same people you do.  It's nice to just be together.  And the beach is a perfect place to just be.

Just being at the beach also gives us a chance to watch and have moments together.  Here are some of our moments. Thanks to Uncle Dave who brought his camera!  Next time we'll turn the camera around and get more of the photographers.
